What the nurse is entitled to

  • All traveling expenses are the responsibility of the customer.
  • If the nurse pays her traveling she is entitled to be totally reimbursed.
  • Once travels to another state or out if country, it is customers responsibility to make all traveling arrangements and pick-up at their expense and then inform the nurse,
  • She is entitled to be paid on a timely basis. Please finalize the details at the start of the job.
  • She is entitled to time, and breaks thru out the day. The general rule is two hours in the morning and two hours in the afternoon (daily rate nurses). This is just a general guideline as all nurses should be willing to work along with the mothers and be flexible.
  • All meals are the responsibility of the customers. Please discuss with your nurse as some nurses like to prepare their own meals while others don't mind eating with the family. For the nurse who likes to prepare own meals maybe that would be an appropriate time for her break.

I am aware that there are some families who value and guard their privacy and dinner time just might be one those occasions. Please feel free to let the nurse know and remember we are accustomed to working in all situations.

BIG NO NO'S

  • We do not clean bathrooms or windows.
  • We are not responsible for feeding or cleaning up after your cats/dogs.
  • We are aware of how much you love your dogs/cats please do not let them eat off the nurses plates or sleep in her bed.
  • All nurses clean up after themselves and the newborn but, doing the family dishes and emptying the dishwasher or doing the family laundry is not our job.
  • Looking after an older sibling is part of the package. We are quite willing to watch sibling/s after they have been fed and put to bed, or if mommy has to run an errand. Please remember this not part of her regular duty and she should be compensated based on how long she has to care for another child.
Your night nurse does not do laundry at nights.
We absolutely. and positively do not train nannies.

The person you are hiring to care for your precious jewel should already have had some training in child care or be trained by you. Your child will grow and develop and their needs will change. your nanny must be able to adjust and make changes to fit each situation she is faced with.

List of my experiences

  • Worked with a number of twins and even triplets.
  • Have been referred to Manhattan Mothers of Twins by a mother I worked with.
  • Trained in infant CPR.
  • I Am able to feed twins exclusively by myself. In fact, I recommend it for my night-time feedings so that the mother can catch up on her rest.
  • I have remained in and worked with newborns who for whatever reason had to go to or remain in the hospitals.

What is a Baby Nurse?

A "baby nurse" is not an RN, LPN, or CNA. She is known as a Newborn Specialist. A Baby Nurse is trained specifically in the care of newborn infants and toddlers and over the years have homed her skills to cope with and identify the specific needs of infants
